What is a Root Canal?
A root canal is a procedure where your dentist removes damaged nerves from the interior of a tooth to prevent the need for an extraction and restore the tooth's full function.
Signs & Symptoms
There are a number of symptoms that may indicate you need a root canal, but the only way to know or sure is to get a diagnosis from your dentist.
If you experience any of the following issues, see your dentist right away:
- An abscess (or pimple) on the gums
- Sensitivity to hot and cold
- Severe tooth pain
- Swollen and/or tender gums
