Dentures in Ottawa
At Ottawa Dentistry, our dentists use dentures to replace missing teeth and the surrounding gum and jaw tissue.
What are Dentures?
Dentures are natural-looking tooth replacements that can be used to replace one missing tooth, a row of teeth or a whole jaw of teeth.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are used if a patient is missing more than a few teeth or the surrounding teeth are not strong enough to hold a dental bridge. They are held in place by clasps that fit onto the natural teeth, and can be removed for cleaning and sleeping.
Full Dentures
Full dentures (often called false teeth) are used if a patient has a whole jaw of missing teeth. They are held in place by suction and can be removed for cleaning and sleeping.
Implant Supported Dentures
If a patient does not have enough gum tissue to support dentures, a dental implant may be used to stabilize the dentures for a secure fit.
